Raped, abused, bullied, humiliated, downgraded, ridiculed, divorced, broken without repair…

The virginity she used to guard with her life was brutally taken away by a man who she has no power to fight. She wrestled with the little strength left in her but all was futile. She was rendered useless and blamed for being too “loose” by the society she looked up to for support. “Nkan to wa, lo ri” they said, in a mockery tone. She became hopeless and resulted into thinking that her dreams and the beautiful world she created in her head has become a mere fantasy. She thinks she is broken beyond repair…

His skinny body only attracts boys who beat him to a plump if he fails to heed to the instructions given to him. “Fatty, Biggy, Pig” are the names they call those that show evidence of good living in their stature. Being fat is seen as a disease, people doubt what they are actually capable of, not knowing that intelligence has to do with the brain and not the body; beauty fades away with time and only a good attitude never gets rusty. Your words and actions left them broken and they think they are beyond repair…

You become alienated in your home because of the change in attitude of your spouse. You share your “body and money” with him like Davido sang and even added a lot to build a happy home but he is still not satisfied. He seeks comfort from a lady who you are a lot better than. I mean, you are not a dog who sleeps around with married men to fund your account. So, tell me, what makes her better than you? Your tears quench your thirst every morning and every night, sorrow eats up your soul. You think he has left you broken…

Your wife abandoned you and the children because things are not going well. She left to find a greener pasture. Your manhood is put into question because you cannot cater for the needs of your family. The world never stops blaming you for not doing enough but deep down, you are dying of stress. They did not see that because the giant in you is yet to be unleashed. You are humiliated by friends and family who think you have nothing to offer more than words of intelligence which are not backed up with money. “Enu dun r’ofo” is what they tell you when you bring up ideas and whenever you try to make them see the sense in it, they say “ogbeni, owo ni keke iyinrere jare.” You go back to your shell, to raise your tentacles again becomes a problem. You have being crushed by their words and you doubt if you will ever be healed…

“She is an imbecile who cannot even spell her name, why should we waste our hard-earned money on her education?” you tell her without remorse. You say it to her face how she can amount to nothing in life because of her state of health. She looks down on herself even when she has the opportunity to prove how special she is to people because your prejudicial words hunt her like a ghost. You left her broken without repair…

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” So, why worry when your Heavenly Father has promised you great things and also has a plan for your future?

God has a way of preparing His own for their future. You have to face tribulations so as to know the best way to worship your Heavenly Father. You were just broken to be remolded into a stronger being; you were crushed so that the giant in you will be unleashed. You are precious no matter what they say. Anything that is broken can be repaired. So, get up on your feet and show them the extraordinary things you are capable of!
