My Worst Hello and My Favourite Goodbye

Our paths crossed like fate planned it before time
Our words clashed like two swords seeking upper hand
Our feet tried to thread same path
But our obvious different ideologies caused sparks on the land

Your words pierced my core nature
Shedding me of the cover that I hold dear
Putting pressure to nullify what I nurture
And you kept me constantly in need to be in the rear

In shreds and tatters you strew my dignity
Walking all over it with glint of pleasure in your eyes
Gradually my body began to bear marks of your narcissism
Making sure that I dim while you shine

Time became a constant friend that I can’t confide in
Time became the friend that I wait for
Time became the slowest rescue I hoped for
When will I break through to break forth?

Then on that day when the last straw broke the camel’s back
Through the worst possible pain
And in your negligence and absent mind
I sought my escape never believing the gift of chance

I nursed my scars of my experience with you
As I won the physical battle in the courts that believed
The physical scars are fading but the imprint remains
As life paid you back in unexpected momentum
You became my worst hello and my favourite goodbye.
