Almost everyone is a runner. Whether it is towards something or away from something, almost everyone runs. Those who don’t run are either walkers or flyers, either way, they are movers.
The sad thing is, people often run away from things they shouldn’t and run towards things waiting to destroy them. Sometimes, just because we breathe in and out, things chase us.
A lot of people have missed their ways because they don’t know why they are running in the first place. They see someone running in one direction and think they should run in that same direction.
I run a lot and most times it’s from things that I don’t want holding on to me anymore. Things that I was first running towards, but on getting closer, turned out to be things one should not be associated with.
Each person is running for a reason. Now, I want you to stop, take a deep breath and remember why you started running in the first place, what are you running from and where are you running to?
I need you to ask yourself if you are running from something you are meant to be running to because of the fear of the unknown or if you are running from something you are meant to stand still and destroy once and for.
I need you to ask yourself if you are running because someone said it’s go time or running from something because you were told that where you planned to go is only for people who have mastered the art of giant strides. Run there still, master these giant strides. Do not look through another person’s eyes when your eyes can see for itself. The eagle does not need the sparrow’s help to tell what’s on the other side.
I need you to constantly stop and look back and ask yourself if there is anything you left behind that should be with you. You need to constantly stop, look ahead and ask yourself what you would need.
A lot of people run for different reasons, whatever reasons they are, please make sure they are the right reasons. Revisit deep places if you have to, as long as you don’t let it swallow you. Cry a river and swim in it, if it will wash you off all the burdens that you need to offload. Draw wings on your back, if they will get you where you need to be.
I beg of you, do not be one that runneth just so they can see that you runneth. Know why you are running and take your time. It’s your race, not the world’s.
