Fulani Herdsmen: Dry sticks choking destinies

I have a bothering issue which I want the intellectuals to profer answer for. Thus, it goes: “when and where do Nigeria, in its constitution states that; Herdsmen are licensed to carry arms and ammunition while cattle have every fundamental rights to attend classes with the primary school students. Hence, if the above stated law is hindered by any citizens, his or her blood should be sacrificed for it as a ransom“.. Anyway, maybe total and and thorough search of Benue’s state constitution will justify the arguments, solutions or it is just a primitive nonsensical act that also has the total support of those at the helm of affairs just to initiate more mortality rate amidst citizens for convenient embezzlement of funds and feeding on budget allotted for many but have already been resumed to few.

It was on a sunny afternoon that it all dawned on me if we are still making progress in this so-called “Giants of Africa” or we are peter-outing like a candle. I crossed over to a newspaper stand as usual to read the trending news in my beloved country when my already curious eyes ignited the roasted news at the right hand side of the newspaper’s front page with the heading, “Mass burials for citizens killed by the Fulani Herdsmen in Benue State”. How hurtful this news was to me! I was dumbfounded and could not interact with others arguing on that matter also.

Personally, I know it is an egregious coupled with nonchalant attitudes from the Federal Government to grant these heartless individuals to redraft the construction of their respective states, which were drafted when most of them were still young and freely implementing into it the freedom to possess arms and ammunition and to end lives as wish in expense of a meat providing animal. We can live and survive without a cattle. In fact, if this stone is left unturned in the coming weeks, these heartless people will implement some new laws, at the detriment of the citizens, into their constitution because they seem more thirsty for living blood. What a country!

Verily, until the masses arise to defend themselves, no government want to be all hears in satisfying every citizens has he or she desires. According to Bishop David Oyedepo, paraphrased, “The government are never concerned about the citizen’s welfare, they only aim at the coming election”. So, if the mortality rate persists for the coming days and civilians decide to keep mute hoping from manna intervention from the government, no, there would be oil all over the white garments. Yet, if citizens decide on jungle justice, oh no, that is another source of income for the judicial sector. The long salivating mouth would then successfully have chocolate to leap. How saddening!

Moreover, as far as Nigeria is concerned as a nation erected on democratic construction, not drafted by an individual, no civilian is licensed to procession of any arms and ammunition publicly. Also, except from the armed forces on certain situations, no civilian has the right to kill. But it baffles when some nails in a country’s pen found it very easy to choke a nation constitution’s egg easily. How surprising! Beautiful lives and well framed destiny are cut short with that deadly dry sticks and many destiny are cut short with those hostile hands, enemies of success and peace. Yet, other sectors which could be an excuse from the government for not attending to this serious issue and killings perpetrated by those Amalekites are voraciously and vigorously fidgetting. What a serious issue!

No! Oh, no! No to ethnicity or tribalism. Professor Woke Soyinka explains this better in his article released some weeks past. He explains that BIAFRA agitators brouhaha wasn’t up to this before the government tagged them “TERRORIST”. What then clutches down the tongue of Mr President as regards this dreading issues instead of being pretentious. What a logic! Most life’s are put in total jeopardy, many offspring turned orphan, wife’s a widow, all these spring forth from the lackadaisical river of those at the helm of affairs behind the wheel of this country.

Are BIAFRA agitators deadly like this Fulani Herdsmen? The answer is simply No! The agitation COULD be juxtaposed to the Israelites agitating for independence in the holy Bible. Albeit, I am neither supporting the agitation by the BIAFRANS nor refuting it but imploring those with superior powers to serve every citizens, tribes and religion the same way not partially.

Besides, rights to life is a fundamental huma rights for any citizen of a democratic state; why then are some deprived of this rights? Storms of misconceptions blowing, initiated by tides from different angles; if it persists, arrows and dagger will from nowhere appear to obliviously pierce their heart.

Hence, the government should be accountable for the loss lives because a murderer is accountable for the soul of whom he has cut short. “God Bless Nigeria” is a clause that can only be said by those that are alive, if we are all killed, who are those to pronounce that? and for who? One who saves lives, saves future and contrary is the case for one who doesn’t. After all, do we know Nigeria’s Samaritan?

If those at the helm of affairs fail to ink their pen to write justice and equality, life for all citizens, security for all, and against dying Abel’s death; Hence they are, from vague imaginations akin to Stalin’s theory of equality, after citizen’s mortality.
