DR Congo Floods, 10 Killed, 92 Missing

The Eastern region of the Democratic Republic of Congo was ravaged by flood, in which 10 persons died and 92 reported missing.

Officials said the region was hit by floods after a huge rainfall, which caused the overflow of river to its banks. An emergency team has already been sent to the town of Bihambwe according to authorities in Masisi territory in eastern DR Congo north, Kivu province, to search for the missing 92 people.

It was reported that in December 2016, flooding in the Port city of Boma killed not less than 50 people and rendered another 10,000 homeless. This however indicates that the Central African Country is prone to flooding incidents, that have often caused the death of many.

The latest incident comes following a deadly and dangerous mudflow that killed not less than 200 persons in the Ituri province.
