Poetry: Alone in my beautiful shack, Yet surrounded by emptiness

ALONE

Alone in my beautiful shack,
Yet surrounded by emptiness
My heart heavy with home sickness,
Restless as a caged canary.

Dreams of home fill my lofty head
Wishing for those home made delicacies,
The smell of lavender so peculiar to us,
That love and that sense of belonging.

Missing my cozy spot at home.
Longing for that worn-out couch,
With its fluffy pillows and armrest,

That keeps me warm all day long.

My cozy spot at home,
Looking forward to be back.
